Dr. Ed Bien
Doc Bien, as he is popularly known anchors the health and medical-oriented show, Doc On TV.
Edwin Arellano Bien, M.D. is visionary, determined and an optimist. Despite his remarkable educational accomplishments, which entitle him to become a surgeon, he opted to take preventive medicine instead—a field not given much recognition several years before.
Early on, Doc Bien saw the bigger picture in the medicine trend. He already recognized the benefits of using alternative medicine against convenient medicine and this compelled him to leave his former ambition.
After obtaining his medical degree in University of Santo Tomas, he came across “The Road Less Traveled”, a book written by M. Scott Peck, M.D. This inspired him to pursue several trainings abroad to chase after this new dream. He went to prominent medical institutions in the US and Malaysia to gain the knowledge and skills required to start his own practice.
Not long after, alternative medicine has been widely accepted in the Philippines and more people recognized the benefits of it. Doc Bien is indeed right on track as leading Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical companies seek an authority to promote natural supplements.
Now, he is the consultant of Department of Health for Philippine Institute for Traditional and Alternative Health Care and a visiting doctor of St. Luke’s Medical Center and Holy Spirit Rehabilitation.
He is currently the Medical-Director of Amezcua Wellness Center that uses alternative medicine for treatments, diet therapies and fitness activities and a Medical-Director of Dynapharm International Philippines, Inc. and Osaka Iridology Inc.
His wide knowledge and expertise in natural healing, laboratory evaluation and diagnosis, iris analyis, acupuncture, herbal products, nutrition and dietary advice, among others opened more doors for him to lead other medical organizations.
Doc Bien is the president of Le’Bien Medical Group and founder of Iridology Foundation of the Philippines and a member of Philippine Medical Association, Dangerous Drugs Board, National Health Federation USA, Anxiety, Insomnia and Depression Association, among others.
His more than 15 years of professional achievements reflect from his outstanding educational background. Doc Bien was a national scholar and a consistent dean’s lister back in college. When he took the Physician’s Licensure Examination, Doc Bien entered the top 20 with the highest mark.
Doc Bien’s passion for learning never ceases as he continuously attends seminars and trainings to keep him abreast of new developments and innovations in the industry.
More than anything, Doc Bien is truly a caring medical practitioner as he participates actively in medical missions in the Philippines. He plans to go regional to render service in Africa.
