LTO warns public vs fake websites to prevent scams

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has warned the public against fake websites to prevent people from falling prey to scams.
In an advisory, the LTO clarified that ‘lisensya.info’ is not an official website of the agency or of the Department of Transportation (DOTr). The agency warned that these fake websites aim to get sensitive information from the public which could be used for scams and other illegal activities.

The DOTr also reminds the public to always refer to official government websites and social media accounts. The department also warned not to provide information to unverified accounts or individuals and immediately report suspicious websites or individuals to the authorities. AAC
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended until September 30 the validity of student permits and drivers’ licenses that expired this year.
In an advisory, the agency said that the extension is due to the implemented quarantine restrictions amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Student permits, drivers’ licenses and conductors’ licenses (CL) that expired from March 29 to July 31 will have extended validity.
The LTO added that this will give way for motorists to be able to renew their licenses.
Meanwhile, the LTO also extended the validity of registration for vehicles with plate numbers that end in 6 and 7.
The extended deadline for vehicle plate numbers that end in 6 is on August 31, while the deadline for vehicle plate numbers that end in 7 will be on September 30. –AAC
MANILA, Philippines—The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has called out the ‘fake news’ circulating online regarding the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act.
According to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Asec. Goddes Hope Libiran, the LTO temporarily suspended the implementation of the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act last August 2020, specifically with regards to driving without a number plate.
The LTO suspended the law while the agency is still in the process of distributing motorcycle plates.
Meanwhile, the LTO said production continues for motorcycle plates. The agency has already distributed around 3,025,628 plates. AAC
