Lagi nating tatandaan, kapag ibinigay, the benefit outweighs the risk,” ani Vergeire.

“Bawal ang walk-in, bawal talaga at strictly forbidden pa rin ang walk-ins dito sa Quezon City but they can register na sa ating Vax Easy Plus that’s found in our Facebook page as well as in our website. They can book their schedule, the day, the time and the venue,” ani Belmonte.

3 million minors in PH now vaccinated vs COVID-19

Robie de Guzman   •   November 24, 2021

MANILA, Philippines – Over three million children aged 12 to 17 years old have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19, President Rodrigo Duterte announced during his taped public briefing that aired late Tuesday night.

“The vaccination of the adolescents, mga anak natin. I am very pleased to know that we have already vaccinated more than three million minors aged 12 to 17, as of today. Marami ‘yan three million,” he said.

Duterte also said that 76.5 million vaccine doses have been administered in the country out of the 134.4 million shots delivered since February.

“Of this number, 41.9 million are given the first dose, while more than 33.5 million are given a second dose and single-dose shots,” he said.

The government rolled out in October the vaccination of minors against COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna are being used in the vaccination of the pediatric sector.

The Food and Drug Administration earlier said that the vaccines for children below 12 years may become available before the end of the year.

Duterte orders LGUs, uniformed personnel to collaborate on 3-day vaccination drive

Robie de Guzman   •   November 24, 2021

MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte has directed all local government units (LGU), police and military personnel to work closely for the country’s three-day COVID-19 vaccination drive.

“I urge all national government agencies as well as provincial and local government units to use all available resources, especially human resources, to help in the vaccination efforts during these three days of vaccination,” Duterte said in his weekly Talk to the People aired on Tuesday night.

“I also call upon AFP, PNP and all enforcement agencies — to assist in the vaccination and mobilization of resources to help bring our people to the vaccination sites,” he added.

To prevent the people from going hungry during the Bayan Bakunahan, the chief executive said he would authorize all governors and mayors to shell out funds to ensure enough food for all.

He also thanked the private sector, malls, fast food chains, and private hospitals for their commitment to join the national vaccination drive.

Threat to public health

Duterte also renewed his call for those who remain unvaccinated to take the jab, noting that refusing to do so would make them a “threat to public health.”

He also said that individuals refusing to be vaccinated should not be allowed inside public restaurants, resorts, and other establishments to protect public health.

The President also reminded everyone, even those who are fully vaccinated, to remain vigilant and continue following the minimum health protocols such as wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing, and frequent handwashing.

The three-day vaccination drive, dubbed as “Bayanihan Bakunahan,” will be held from November 29 to December 1. The said dates have been declared as special working days to gain wide public backing.

The activity aims to inoculate 15 million Filipinos across 16 regions outside of Metro Manila.
