QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Isa ang Philippine National Police sa magbibigay ng seguridad sa pagbisita ni US Pres. Barack Obama sa bansa ngayong April 28.

Ayon kay PNP-PIO Chief P/CSupt. Reuben Theodore Sindac, ang Presidential Security Group ang lead agency ang mangangalaga sa seguridad ni Obama.

“As far as security is concerned, of course, the PSG and PNP will be only one of the security forces that will be assisting together with the AFP and others.”
Sinabi pa ni Sindac na wala naman silang namo-monitor na ano mang banta ngunit patuloy ang gagawin nilang pagbabantay upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng Pangulo ng Amerika.

“Sa ngayon wala pa naman nakakalap na significabt threat sa visit pero continuing ang pag-validate ng nga impormasyon at intelligence at coordination.”

Idinagdag pa ni Sindac na hindi naman pipigilan na magpahayag ng kanilang saloobin ang mga militanteng grupo basta gagawin nila ito ng maayos at hindi makakaapekto sa kapayapaan ng bansa .

Helpline para sa mga katanungan hinggil sa COVID-19 community quarantine, inilunsad ng PNP

MANILA, Philippines – Inilunsad ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ngayong Miyerkules, Mayo 27 ang Helpline 16677, isang public hotline para sa anumang katanungan o isyu hinggil sa ipinatutupad na community quarantine sa gitna ng novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.

Ayon kay PNP chief Police General Francisco Gamboa, layon ng proyekto na matiyak ang agarang pagtugon ng pulisya sa anumang reklamo o katanungan na hinggil sa mga panuntunan sa enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) at general community quarantine (GCQ).

“We want a quick response system that will immediately address and respond to the public’s concerns in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The timely release of information and assistance is urgently needed by our people and the PNP’s helpline will provide just that,” ani Gamboa sa isang pahayag sa media.

Ang PNP Directorate for Operations-PNP Command Center ang magsisilbing communication hub para sa lahat ng ECQ at GCQ concerns. Bukod pa ito sa ginagawa nilang monitoring ng police operations at pag-uulat hinggil sa law enforcement activities ng PNP.

Ayon kay Gamboa, inilunsad ang proyekto sa pakikipag-tulungan ng PLDT Inc. na nagbigay ng 52 units ng mobile phones, 30 units ng pocket Wi-Fi, mga prepaid cards at ilang SMS Messaging suite.

5 arrested, P40-M worth of suspected shabu seized in Bohol drug ops – PNP

MANILA, Philippines – Six kilograms of suspected shabu (crystal meth), worth P40 million, were seized during two separate illegal drug operations in Bohol province on Monday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday.

A report from Police Brigadier General Albert Ignatius Ferro, chief of Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), said that a buy-bust operation was launched on Monday afternoon in Talibon town which yielded the arrest of drug suspect, Jaime Dajao, 44.

Arresting officers confiscated from Dajao four kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P27 million.

In a follow-up operation conducted in Tagbilaran City, police arrested four drug suspects, identified as Lelit Dajao Sinugbojan, 44; Chellomao Pescura Curayag, 33; Junalyn Abelgas Matura, 32; and Humprey Millana Cenabre, 34.

Two kilograms of suspected shabu, worth P13 million, were seized from the suspects, as well as the buy-bust money.

PNP chief Police General Archie Gamboa assured that intensified anti-illegal drug operations will continue despite the police’s task in the government’s COVID-19 response.

“Even with the ongoing health crisis, police anti-illegal drugs operations will continue without let-up and will be unrelenting as ever,” Gamboa said.

Operasyon ng PNP COVID-19 testing facility, simula na ngayong linggo

MANILA, Philippines – Magsisimula na ngayong linggo ang operasyon ng sariling testing facility para sa novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) ng Philippine National Police (PNP).

Ayon kay PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, binigyan na ito ng license to operate ng Department of Health (DOH) noon pang May 22.

Una nang sinabi ng PNP na ang Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) facility nito ay sinertipikahan ng Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) ng DOH bilang isang independent testing center.

Pansamantala itong ipu-puwesto sa PNP Crime Laboratory sa Camp Crame habang hindi pa tapos ang 84-square meter na pasilidad sa likod ng PNP Health Service.

Ayon kay Banac, prayoridad sa testing ang pulis na dumu-duty sa quarantine checkpoints at nagpapatupad ng seguridad sa Metro Manila.

Sa huling tala ng PNP Health Service, umabot na sa 263 ang bilang ng mga pulis na nag-positibo sa coronavirus disease.
