“We are… We are all working hard for this government. So 2016 may be around the corner but we have not—we are not focused on 2016. We are focused on governance. We certainly welcome the numbers of Vice President Binay and so we’ll just… but, again, if it’s a cause for concern, no, it’s not a cause for concern for us”, pahayag ni Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Edwin Lacierda.

Dagdag pa nito, “If you look at the surveys also—president, vice president—historical ang… mas mataas ang vice president and also… well, that’s basically that. we’ve asked also the survey experts. it’s always historical. save for a few exceptions, but it’s always historical.”

(Bianca Dava, UNTV News)

“We would want to assure and we assure the public that the budget will be signed.

MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang on Thursday condemned the killing of veteran journalist Jesus “Jess” Malabanan.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the tragic murder of Jesus “Jess” Malabanan in Calbayog City,” acting presidential spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said in a statement.

Nograles said the Presidential Task Force on Media Security is “now looking into the incident and exploring all angles, including the possibility that the killing was related to his work as a journalist.”

“We condole with the family, loved ones, and colleagues of Mr. Malabanan and assure them that the government will exert all efforts to ensure that those responsible are caught, charged, and convicted for this crime,” he added.

Malabanan was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants while he was inside his home in Tinambacan District in Calbayog City, Samar on Wednesday evening.

The Philippine National Police has formed a task group to expedite the conduct of investigation into the incident.

Nograles urged everyone with information “to come forward to authorities and cooperate with law enforcers in order to immediately bring Mr. Malabanan’s killers to justice.”
