University of the Philippines (UP) Associate Professor Alex Cortez, the current creative director of the theater group Dulaang UP, and renowned songwriter/producer Mon del Rosario complete the people behind the theatric production of Songs for Heroes 2.
The sequel of the Songs for Heroes concert, which will be held this June, will have a bigger production featuring songs and acts depicting the story of the country’s uniformed men, according to the organizers.
“We have already planned the production needs of the concert,”
shared Cortez, who will serve as the show’s creative director.
“With the participation of the AFP and PNP, we will be featuring the different aspects of their duties,”
Cortez further remarked.
“We have many talents in AFP and PNP,” and we will be tapping them,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mon del Rosario, who is known for the OPM hits “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig” and “Sino ang Baliw,” will join the team as the concert’s musical director.
“I will oversee the music side, particularly the musical arranges,” del Rosario shared, also hinting that the upcoming concert will have a clearer storyline.
Songs for Heroes 2 will highlight the ups and downs that the police and soldiers experience. Apart from the participation of today’s biggest OPM stars, the concert will feature the unsung talents of the AFP and PNP.
The upcoming benefit show is helmed by the Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International under the leadership of Dr. Daniel Razon.
