For Continued Support to PH’s Uniformed Men, BMPI to Hold ‘Songs for Heroes 2’

Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI) is set to hold “Songs for Heroes 2: Ang Mamatay Nang Dahil Sa Iyo (To Die for You)” on June 30 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena to show its continued support for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

BMPI, the content provider for the public service broadcasting network UNTV, has previously staged “Songs for Heroes” in March as a tribute for the fallen 44 PNP Special Action Force troopers who died during the Mamasapano encounter in January.

On April 30, representatives from the PNP and AFP has met with the management of BMPI to conceptualize the upcoming benefit concert, which will present a deeper understanding of what it takes to be one of the country’s uniformed men.

“The concept of Songs for Heroes 2 is very good,” remarked Lt. Col. Martin Dais of the AFP who represented the organization during the meeting. “We will try to be as active as we did the last time or even surpass it,” he added.

P/S Supt. Ma. Asuncion Placino, PNP-PCRG’s Deputy Director, said that the PNP “is in full support to this very noble project.”

“We are very grateful because ‘Songs for Heroes’ will have a sequel. Again, we will showcase the talents of the police,” Placino enthused.

Songs for Heroes 2 will gather some of the biggest names of today’s music industry as well as the talents of the PNP and the AFP to present a theatrical production featuring the lives of Philippines’ uniformed men.

Renowned writer-director Floy Quintos, hitmaker Mon Del Rosario, and theater group Dulaang UP’s creative director Alex Cortez will also join the team behind Songs for Heroes 2.
