Kuh Ledesma, Jed Madela and Wency Cornejo, among the Final List of Songs for Heroes 2 Performers

The organizers of the Songs for Heroes 2 has finally announced the final list of performers for the upcoming benefit concert, which includes some of OPM’s finest artists such as Kuh Ledesma, Jed Madela and Wency Cornejo.

Kuh, who has been on the music industry for 35 years now, is known for the Filipino classics “Dito Ba,” “One More Try,” and “Till I Met You.” The multi-awarded artist has released 20 albums and has appeared in over a thousand concerts here and abroad.

Meanwhile, Jed brought the country into international fame back in 2005 after being the first Filipino to win the prestigious Grand Champion Performer at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

The wide-range vocal prowess of Jed has paved way to eight best-selling albums, and sold-out concerts.

On the other hand, Wency Cornejo, is a renowned singer-composer most popular for the OPM hit, “Hanggang.” He is also the former frontman of the band, AfterImage, known for the songs, “Habang May Buhay,” “Next In Line,” and “Mangarap Ka.”

Completing the roster of the performers are theater actress-singer Jenine Desiderio, crooner Jeffrey Hidalgo, Asia’s Got Talent (AGT) 3rd placer Gerphil Flores, and vocal group 5th Gen.

Up-and-coming artists like Shanne Velasco, AGT finalist Gwyneth Dorado and The Voice Kids finalist Sam Shoaf will also partake in the benefit concert.

The chorale and combo of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will also have a special participation.

Songs for Heroes 2 entitled “Ang Mamatay Nang Dahil Sa Iyo (To Die for You” is the sequel of a benefit concert held on March 19 for the 44 PNP Special Action Force troopers who died during the Mamasapano clash. It will be staged at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on June 30.

The Breakthrough and Milestones Production International (BMPI) is the main organizer of the event.
