PNP, AFP Performers: Being Part of Songs for Heroes is Life-changing

For the performers of Songs for Heroes, the concert is not only life-changing for its beneficiaries but for the participants from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as well.

“It’s very encouraging. It’s truly different. It’s a life-changing experience for it’s not only for yourself but it’s something for the heroes and the country,” Captain Edgar Posadas shared.

Posadas, who has been with the AFP for 20 years now, is a member of the organization’s medical corps and chorale. He is one of the performers of the first Songs for Heroes held on March 19.

Posadas will also participate in the upcoming sequel of the charity concert, entitled Songs for Heroes 2: Ang Mamatay Nang Dahil Sa Iyo (To Die For You), which will be staged on June 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

For Ms. Edita Medialdia, a non-unformed PNP personnel, the Songs for Heroes concert is very helpful in abridging the PNP and the AFP.

“UNTV has such a big heart because they did this project. They put together the PNP and the AFP so there is more beautiful relationship between the two in extending help to fellowmen,” the 60-year-old employee stated.

Medialdia has been working in the PNP for the past 40 years and is currently assigned at the Web Services and Cybercrime Division. She is also a member of the PNP chorale for 10 years now.

According to PO3 Anngeneth Dinglasan, an investigator at the Inspectorate and Investigation Division of the PNP Health Service, the concert offers them an opportune time to serve not only the community but their fellow uniformed men as well.

“As the PNP, we said that we bring the police to the community. [Because of the concert], we will not only serve the community, but our fellow policemen and their dependents [as well],” Dinglasan, who is also a PNP chorale member, remarked.
