Independent film director Pedring Lopez is the latest to join the production team of the upcoming benefit concert, “Songs For Heroes 2: Ang Mamatay Nang Dahil sa Iyo (To Die For You).”
Lopez is set to helm the special video presentations of the concert, which will be played before every song performances.
“Basically, it’s a play of reality and photos, which will be integrated in the videos. It is like a mini story before each songs – sort of a short film,” he shared in an interview.
Lopez considers Songs for Heroes 2 as a big challenge as he sees the need to clearly convey the concert’s message in every scene of the video presentations. Aiding him are the involved artists who will play the role of a soldier and a policeman.
Nonetheless, the director stated that he is honored to take part in this “special project.”
“It’s an honor doing it because it’s really something that will help our troopers. We should really reach out for them because they stand on their ground to protect all of us,” he remarked.
Included in Lopez’s film masterpieces is “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story,” which stars E.R. Ejercito.
Songs for Heroes 2, which will be staged on June 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena, will gather some of the biggest and newest names in the music industry such as Kuh Ledesma, Jed Madela, Wency Cornejo, 5th and Gerphil Flores.
The concert will be a tribute for the men of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
