The Philippine National Police expressed their gratitude to the Public Safety Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (PSSLAI) for donating Php 26 million to the organization as a financial assistance for facility upgrade.

The formal turnover held last September 21 was led by Secretary for Interior and Local Government Mel Senen Sarmiento and PNP Chief Director General Ricardo Marquez. Acting Chairman Retired Police Director Lucas Managuelod represented the PSSLAI.

For Marquez, the donation is both “an expression of the PSSLAI’s responsiveness to needs of PNP, as former police officers” and “a recognition of the sacrifices of our policemen, especially those serving at the frontlines.”

Of the total assistance given, Php 23,150,000 were allotted to provide the PNP with 200 motorbikes, complete with helmets and jackets. This donation is expected to boost the mobility of the patrollers in the five districts of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Regional Public Safety Battalions (RPSB).

The remaining amount will be dedicated to the renovation and purchase of office equipment for the second floor of Camp Crame’s Kiangan Hall.

“We can only be too glad to reciprocate this gesture of genuine concern by the PSSLAI through better performance in the intensified implementation of patrolling in the National Capital Region,” Marquez further enthused.
