The World Medical Relief, Inc. (WMRI) has recently donated Php 57 million worth of medical equipment to the Philippine General Hospital General Hospital (PNPGH) as a way to help improve the health service quality it provides to policemen and their dependents.

Dr. David Lee Zarate, WMRI’s first “Ambassador of Health,” turned over the equipment to PNP Chief PDG Ricardo Marquez. PDIR Wilfredo Franco of the Police Community Relations, who is also the chairman of PNP’s Technical Working Group on donation, also graced the event.

“We are very grateful to WMRI for their continuing support to the PNP especially on our medical and health needs,” Marquez remarked.

“The donation is indeed a great help to PNPGH in providing the best health care for our personnel and their dependents”, he added.

In particular, the WMRI donated three container vans with equipment and medical supplies worth Php56,681,100.
The donations were already distributed to PNPGH’s wards and sections.

Additional 10 units of blood chemistry analyzers are expected to arrive on November 5, 2015.

The WMRI is a US-based, non-government organization first established in 1953. Regarded as the world’s fourth largest NGO, the group has been adamant in mounting philanthropic works related to medicine in over 100 countries.
