The Armed Forces of the Philippines heightens its preparations and trainings for its soldiers as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leader’s Meeting is fast-approaching.
The event hosted by the Philippines this year will be held on November 18 and 19 in Manila City.
For their APEC duty, troopers under the Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) Company are undergoing a series of training in order to deliver better response in situations that may require their service on the two-day activity.
As Philippine National Police personnel will helm the safety and security aspects of the event, the AFP CDM Company will be on standby for the duration of the annual meet.
The soldiers assigned for the event will be deployed immediately should the need for assistance arise.
The company comprises troopers from the AFP’s Security and Escort Group and AFP K-9 units.
Apart from trainings on security, the soldiers under this group were also briefed about basic human rights and crowd management.
