The Police Regional Office – 13 (CARAGA) received 50 new patrol jeeps from the Philippine National Police (PNP) – a substantial addition to its transport fleet.

Led by Interior and Local Government Secretary Mel Sarmiento and PNP Public Information Office (PIO) Chief PC/Supt. WIlben Mayor, the ceremonial turnover was held on December 10 at Camp Rafael Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City. The vehicles were received by PRO13 regional Director PC/Supt. Vert Tinio.

For PNP CARAGA, the donation will boost the mobile capability of its maneuver units who serve as the group’s frontliners in responding to police emergencies.

PC/Supt. Mayor also said that the vehicles will help provide substantial police presence and general transport capability to the CARAGA police force.

The patrol jeeps were then distributed to different CARAGA police offices – 20 for Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office, 17 for Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office and 13 for Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office.

According to PNP-PIO, the 12-seater Mahindra Enforcer Patrol Jeep features convertible back-to-back and front-facing seats, sirens and lights with speakers.

Earlier, the DILG and PNP also distributed a total of 60 patrol vehicles to the police force in Legazpi City and Romblon.

The said distributions are part of the DILG-PNP procurement program which targets a one-is-to-one ratio of patrol vehicle and police station.
