In time with the onslaught of Typhoon Nona, the Chinese-Filipino Club Inc. led by Mr. Tomas Ang donated a total of 200 raincoats to members of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG).

According to Ang, who serves as the group’s president, the donation is an act of expressing their gratitude to the group who has been tasked to handle the traffic management along EDSA.

“This donation is very timely as we expect to experience typhoon “Nona”…These raincoats are very helpful as our HPG personnel never stops serving the public rain or shine,” PNP Chief Ricardo Marquez said.

Meanwhile, the PNP had its Oplan Saklolo in full swing, positioning its disaster response troops, equipment and supplies to disaster-prone areas threatened by typhoon Nona in Luzon and Visayas.

Additionally, P/Dir. Wilfredo Franco, the PNP Director for Police Community Relations and concurrent Task Group Commander has alerted the regional directors of the affected areas.

Franco has further mobilized National Support Units to ready its resources for possible deployment to locations that may be affected by landslides and floods.

These units are composed of the PNP HPG, Special Action Force, Maritime Group, Police Community Relations Group and Regional Public Safety Battalions.
