A recent report by the Philippine National Police’s Directorate for Personnel and Records Management showed that the families and beneficiaries of the SAF 44 have already received a lump sum and pension worth Php 70,583,520.
Of the said financial assistance, Php 7,682,433 came from the Special Financial Assistance as stipulated in RA 6963; Php 9,623,932, from the Commutation of Accumulated Leave (CAL); Php526,801, from Monthly Pension; and Php 1,146,762 were from Back Earned Pension.
Meanwhile, NAPOLCOM released monetary aid worth Php 14,467,155 from Burial and Gratuity; Php 490,193 from Monthly Pension (Married only); and Php 1,108,448 from Back Earned Pension.
Additionally, the Office of the President gave a total of Php 11,000,000 while the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund, Inc. (PSMBFI) donated Php24,537,793.

Apart from this, 46 dependent children of 28 SAF troopers were also granted with scholarship grants with the following benefits:
· Kindergarten per school year: Php10,000.00
· Elementary education per school year: Php18,000.00
· Secondary education per school year: Php24,000.00
· Vocational per semester: Php18,000.00
· College per semester: Php30,000.00
At the same time, the PNP and the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies Scholarship (AIMS) signed a Memorandum of Agreement giving 44 Scholarship Certificates to the SAF 44 families. Under the partnership, a family is entitled to one college scholarship grant with 100 percent tuition fee discount.
On housing assistance, the report noted that 32 units were already completed while 24 were still under construction as of January 8, 2015. This help is being provided in coordination with the National Housing Authority.
The SAF 44 families and beneficiaries also separately received Php26,875,000 from the Senate of the Philippines, House of Representatives, other Local Government Units and PNP Special Assistance Fund.
Moreover, GSIS granted a Funeral Benefit to each family amounting to Php20,000.00. The DOJ Board of Claims also provided Php 10,000 for each family.
The beneficiaries also received Insurance Plan and Healthcare Card sponsored by San Miguel Foundation, Inc.
During the SAF 44 commemoration, all the troopers who fought and died during the Mamasapano encounter in January 2015 were posthumously promoted.
