AFP opens screening for soldiers who wish to join tribute concert “Songs for Heroes 3”

MANILA, Philippines — Five bands from various units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and seven soloists have auditioned for the UNTV’s Songs for Heroes 3 concert.

The soldiers are excited to be chosen to participate in a one of kind concert dedicated to their colleagues who are ready to risk their lives for peace.

“I am very happy and excited because although in a small way, I could help our troops fighting now in Marawi City so the country would attain peace,” said PFC Efraim Rivera.

“They should be recognized for the bravery they did in Marawi City. We should also give them support especially the families of those who died,” Philippine Navy CPO Ramil Daddie said.

The AFP is thankful for the said initiative of UNTV to collect funds for the families of the fallen heroes in Marawi City.

“First, thank you to UNTV and to all who help and continue giving support to our soldiers. We are very grateful for conducting this concert for our troops,” AFP Spokesperson BGen. Restituto Padilla said.

He also said the concern given to government forces is one of the inspirations of the soldiers fighting against terrorists in the war torn city.

UNTV is organizing the third Song for Heroes concert led by “Mr. Public Service” Kuya Daniel Razon.

It will be held on Oct.17, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. – Robie de Guzman | UNTV News & Rescue
