A week shy of Songs for Heroes 2, performers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) commended the list of songs included in the benefit concert. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe song \u2018Mangarap Ka (Dream)\u2019 is a very [good choice], it has a beautiful lyrics,\u201d remarked PO1 Norman Wileman III.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully, we could render it well. We wish that the audience could feel the message of the song,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
For S\/Sgt. Federico Andagan, the said song is \u201cvery emotional.\u201d \u201cWe have many fellow policemen and soldiers who died during encounters\u2026We dedicate this to them,\u201d he further stated.<\/p>\n
Participants from the two organizations have been thoroughly preparing for weeks now for the upcoming concert, which serves as a tribute to the country\u2019s gallant defenders.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am happy because AFP and PNP joined forces [for this project] \u2013 this is rarely done. We are doing this concert for our comrades,\u201d PO1 Arlene Arriola shared.<\/p>\n
According to AFP performer Sgt. Alger Supil, \u201c[Songs for Heroes 2] is a good opportunity\u201d for uniformed men like them, especially that it will be held at a big venue, which is at the Mall of Asia Arena.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, PNP Police Community Relations Group Director PC\/Supt. Nestor Quinsay also expressed his excitement for the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can see that [the upcoming concert] is bigger and better than Songs for Heroes 1. The event will feature selected singers from the AFP and PNP,\u201d he enthused.<\/p>\n
Songs for Heroes 2 will be staged on June 30 and will feature stellar performances from Kuh Ledesma, Jed Madela, Wency Cornejo and Gerphil Flores.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
