{"id":965,"date":"2017-08-11T05:41:26","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T05:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/intranet.untvweb.com\/songsforheroes\/?p=965"},"modified":"2017-09-27T05:46:02","modified_gmt":"2017-09-27T05:46:02","slug":"government-ensures-psychosocial-services-for-displaced-residents-of-marawi-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/untvweb.com\/songsforheroes\/?p=965","title":{"rendered":"Government ensures psychosocial services for displaced residents of Marawi City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MANILA, Philippines \u2014<\/strong>\u00a0The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) maintained there is no reason to be alarmed over the conditions of evacuees in Marawi City.<\/p>\n<p>This is what the agency assured after receiving reports that some internally displaced persons (IDPs) are now suffering from mental health crisis.<\/p>\n<p>IDPs have been staying outside their residences for almost three months because of the ongoing battle in Marawi City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t characterize it as a mental crisis, to be honest. Because a crisis is something that you cannot address or you are not addressing, or you do not recognize,\u201d said Civil Defense Deputy Administrator for Administration, Kristoffer James Purisima.<\/p>\n<p>The official also said they are providing the necessary aid for the affected residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the provision of mental health and psychosocial services, including necessary medicines, are continuously being provided to our IDPs,\u201d Purisima added.<\/p>\n<p>Based on reports, approximately 30,000 IDPs have been given psychosocial services such as psychological first aid, stress debriefing, and psychiatric treatments.<\/p>\n<p>However, the OCD has no particular number about how many are suffering from mental illness and needing a higher level of medical intervention.\u00a0<strong>\u2014 Rosalie Coz | UNTV News &amp; Rescue<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA, Philippines \u2014\u00a0The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) maintained there is no reason to be alarmed over the conditions of evacuees in Marawi City.
