Hotelier/businessman Carlos ‘Sonny’ Dominguez III has accepted President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s offer to join his Cabinet as finance secretary after initially declining it. Dominguez was a finance head in Duterte’s campaign team. Duterte revealed that Dominguez was his ‘boyhood chum, neighbor and class valedictorian.’ He served as agriculture secretary and Cabinet Secretary under former President Cory Aquino. He also held governmental position during the presidency of Fidel V. Ramos.
