Vitaliano Aguirre II is best remembered as the private prosecutor who agitated Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago when the former covered his ears during Santiago’s diatribe in the impeachment trial of the late Chief Justice Renato Corona. Aguirre is a former classmate of incoming President Rodrigo Duterte who graduated cum laude and class valedictorian. He also acted as legal counsel of Hubert Webb in the Vizconde Massacre case.
